RESUME OF GERMAN SCHAFER, PADEL COACH IN MALAGA-MARBELLA
Former professional Padel player, Germán Schäfer was an accomplished Argentine player on the Premier padel. Born in Buenos Aires, he arrived in Spain in the 2000s to play Padel at the highest level. He even participated in the World Championships in 2006. Today, he serves as the national coach for the Spanish Padel Federation. But his experience doesn’t stop there!
From 2009 to 2012, he was the technical director of the British Padel Federation, as well as the coach of the national Padel teams (men, women, and juniors), leading them to the World Team Championships in Mexico in 2010 (men and women) and Spain in 2011 (juniors).
From 2010 to 2014, he served as the director of the PADEL N SPORTS Padel club in Estepona (Malaga), Spain.
In 2014, he coached the Swedish national men’s and women’s teams, taking them to the World Team Championships in Palma, Spain.
In 2015, he became the coach of the German national men’s and women’s teams, leading them to the World Team Championships in the Netherlands the same year.
Germán Schäfer has an exceptional international coaching resume, particularly in European countries where Padel is not yet a major sport. As a result, he has brought a tactical culture that he transmits with great pleasure and constant energy to all the players he encounters today, regardless of their level or degree of demand. Germán is a skilled technician and tactician capable of coaching both beginners and professionals.
One of his great strengths, linked to his international experience, is his impeccable English. It is rare to find coaches in Spain with such perfect English, which facilitates communication for those who do not speak Spanish.

German SCHAFER is one of our favorite ToPadel coaches. During his courses, he will prioritize the defensive aspects of Padel, which he considers essential for anyone looking to improve: keeping the ball in play is the key to winning matches. Because the team that wins a match is often not the one that finishes with the most winning points, but the one that loses the fewest points.
However, German will also work with you on volleys, which he believes are the most important shot in Padel: to control and build the point without taking risks once you are at the net. This way, you won’t be at the mercy of your opponents’ game.
