WHO IS GUILLERMO ROMERO DURAN, PADEL COACH IN SEVILLE ?

Guillermo Romero Duran has been a padel player in Spain since the age of 13. He discovered this sport thanks to his parents, both amateur players, who gave him his first racket! This gift, combined with the fact that his parents enrolled him in an intensive padel camp that same summer, changed everything for him. From that moment on, his passion for this wonderful sport grew day by day, and today there is not a single day that passes without Guillermo stepping onto a padel court, whether for a match or to give lessons!

If you take padel lessons in Seville, you will first and foremost meet a Sevillian coach with whom to share your passion!

WHAT MAKES A GOOD TRAINING CAMP THAT HELPS IMPROVE, ACCORDING TO GUILLERMO ROMERO DURAN ?

In order to progress and see a significant improvement in your level, it is essential to fully invest yourself, enjoy the sport, and put all your energy and determination into every ball and every shot you make. For this, Guillermo will always advise you to be patient in achieving success, especially when building offensive plays, where rushing to finish the point is not the right approach. Guillermo will guide you to become more tactical in your choices, to unsettle your opponents and force them into making mistakes or providing you with an easy enough ball to decide to finish the point! It will also be essential to be capable of consolidating a good defense.

Having enough technical basics and composure to become a good defender who varies the rhythms and shots presented to opponents is crucial. His goal is to provide you with comprehensive training, combining padel’s technical and tactical knowledge, teaching them through progressive exercises that allow you to build the foundation before increasing complexity.

In parallel, he will instill values such as sacrifice, humility, and camaraderie, which will be of great help since padel is, let’s not forget, a team sport and a friendly one! He will share with you the Spanish spirit that is closely linked to the discipline.

STRENGTHS AND TIPS FROM GUILLERMO ROMEO DURAN, PADEL COACH IN SEVILLE

With a degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and also a level 1 padel coach, Guillermo considers one of his main strengths to be his continuous self-improvement. He never stops training, taking courses, reading expert content on padel, and more.

Furthermore, the fact that he also participates in the sport as a player is an advantage for him. It provides him with the necessary perspective to better understand his students and help them achieve their goals more effectively. Finally, the variety of students he has had over the years, in terms of skill levels, countries, ages, and genders, gives him a broader perspective and contributes to shaping his experience, which he shares with his students through his padel lessons.

GUILLERMO’S ADVICE FOR BEGINNER AND EXPERIENCED PLAYERS

“For a beginner player, I generally recommend not trying to win the point with the first ball they touch! They should aim to hit a high volume of shots so that when the moment comes to receive a ball they feel comfortable with, they can either win the point or at least make it difficult for the opponent to respond and continue their initiative.” For an experienced player, Guillermo advises never to stop perfecting the technical aspects that determine excellence in competition, as well as the tactical, physical, nutritional, mental work, and more, which, when combined, will help them continue to improve.”

What is the favorite professional model and player of our coach Guillermo Romero Duran?

“My favorite male paddle player is Fernando Belasteguin, as he embodies the mental strength required in paddle to remain in the elite for so many consecutive years.”
