Introduction to Adrián León Guerrero, your paddle coach in the heart of the beautiful city of Seville.
Like many coaches we select for your paddle clinics in Spain, Adrian started playing paddle when he was a child. He has been coaching and playing for over 15 years, which gives him extensive technical and tactical experience that he will share with you during your paddle lessons in Seville. He was introduced to paddle by his parents at a young age, and after several years as a player, he decided to venture into competitive play. His motivation for competition began with Javi Pena, a coach for professional players in Seville, who encouraged him through his passion for the sport.
Since then, Adrian continues to compete at the regional level in Andalusia, as well as at the national level in Spain. He has a dual profile as both a coach and an active player in the Spanish championships. He can share with you the attitudes and other advice if you too aspire to compete.
WHAT TO REMEMBER FOR SUCCESSFUL PADDLE, ACCORDING TO COACH ADRIÁN LEÓN GUERRERO
According to Adrian, the most important keys to success in paddle are based on the technical and tactical development of the game. To develop and improve your game on the court in the best possible way, you need to learn and understand all the technical aspects that paddle encompasses, in order to enhance both your defense and offense and adapt to every situation.
As Adrian puts it: ‘Every match has a way to be won; we just need to find THAT way.’
To achieve this, it is essential to understand both your own game and your opponent’s game. Then, you can compare your strengths to your opponent’s and find the strategy that suits you and disrupts them!
HOW ADRIÁN LEÓN GUERRERO, A COACH IN SEVILLE, STRUCTURES HIS PADDLE LESSONS TO HELP STUDENTS IMPROVE ?
Self-assessment: an important and essential key to a student’s progress, as explained by Adrian. During his coaching sessions, he always ensures that the student improves and progresses on their own by allowing them to see and feel their own mistakes, especially in real match situations. Additionally, by recognizing the correct execution of the shot through training sessions. Always approaching things in a positive manner because this sport is primarily based on enjoyment and patience:
Patience is crucial because to make progress in paddle, it is essential to avoid frustration and persevere until the set goals are achieved. Don’t be surprised if you make mistakes over and over again. Over time, you will be able to correct them and make progress!
Enjoyment is vital because without it, improvement is impossible. Sports are primarily a means of liberation and pleasure. If you can have fun while learning, it will be much easier to achieve your goals!

ADRIÁN LEÓN GUERRERO’S ADVICE FOR BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE PADDLE PLAYERS

Every player has something that makes them unique and skilled, but the one Adrian will always admire is Matias DIAZ: his character and his way of fighting for every ball and every point have impressed him since he was very young. And it’s this attitude that every player should aspire to have, according to Adrian.
